Glycyrrhiza functions as a blood tonic through its effect on the kidney and spleen. The combined effect of this remedy appears after a few days of treatment as a correction of the venous tension and a regularization of blood pressure. This preparation is ideal for feminine anemia following loss of blood in child-birth, or in cases of low blood pressure following upon infectious illnesses, i.e., influenza, angina, etc. It also works well in general vegetative dystonia coupled with a lowering of blood pressure.
